Janet Ann OBrien Mawicke Reinhard (Price) Growing up surrounded by beloved St. Bernards and Poodles, she developed a strong connection to the natural world. Jan was an old sole. She always spoke of her proud ancestors - John G Price and Royers, Originally from Canton, then Columbus…Jonathon and Zoe Means pictured on the left.
Janet was born in Columbus Ohio on March 21, 1932, of course it was the first day of Spring. She was the beloved Grandmother of Jonathon P and Natalie K, who brought her tons of fun and joy whenever they were together. Adored Mother of Patrick, (Lori) Michael , and Sean of Chicago. Beloved sister
Kathleen Courtney and Bestest Nieces Sheila Huettl and Ann Huettl of Laguna NIgel Ca. they had a blast together when they would visit!
Jan was preceded in death by Her Father Henry A. and Mother Kathleen P. , and Her first Husband E. Patrick O'Brien, in 2013 and Clement A Mawicke in 2012. Jan was an amazing friend and positive inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She was forever young and could counsel or build you up and then beat you on the tennis court in the afternoon. We were lucky to have her in our lives.
Jan's Spiritual life began at St. Mary of the Springs in Columbus where she was disciplined with the curt ruler of Sister Mary Ratchet, although she much preferred Dana Carvey's version. Jan also wanted us to mention that she loved her Initiation and membership in Kappa Kappa Gamma @ OSU. This Buckeye Fan did attend OSU and never let you forget her loyalties especially if you're from the hand state. She had to hold her nose when they Played N.U, but generally Jan thought football was an exercize in being strong in life,
like many great coaches do.
She attended St. Norberts where her memorial service will be on July 26 at 10:00 AM. Fr. John OBrien will be the Celebrant. (All the way from his new Parish in Santa Barbara), just 2 minutes from his cousin Natalie ,amazingly, who moved to Santa Barbara in April.
Jan was a regular attendee at Both Our Lady of the Brook in Northbrook and Techny-Divine Word Intl.
